November 25th 2016
the "Citizens in transit" conference was held.
The day was dedicated to metropolitan mobility and the changes taking place and was divided into several sessions in the form of workshops on the model of the conferences TED (Technology Entertainment Design)
in which each speaker has been called to intervene for a maximum of 10 minutes in order to keep the concentration threshold high and make a debate possible between the many actors involved.
The emerging needs of the demand for mobility were discussed, with particular attention to the problems of gender and safety, to the geography of the settlements, increasingly widespread and low density but with new polarities, and to the transport offer, aimed at guaranteeing a fair accessibility in terms of time and costs throughout the area.
The aim of the meeting was to integrate, making them interact, different points of view and aspects of the issue, starting from qualitative-quantitative ones, from the projects already elaborated by the various local authorities, for the identification of operational strategies and proposals consistent with the programs in force for the "mending" of the infrastructural mesh between 'hard' and 'soft' mobility with the aim of overcoming the current territorial difficulties of public transport.
The Convention received the patronage of the Metropolitan City of Milan, the Cariplo Foundation, the Polytechnic University of Milan, the PPC Architects of the Province of Milan and the University of Milan. At this event, 3 training credits were recognized to the Engineers registered (the recognition was authorized by the Order of Engineers of Milan, which evaluated the professional training contents and the implementation methods in advance) while for the Architects registered to the Order 4 training credits were requested at the CNAPPC. The event is in collaboration with the Order of Architects of the Province of Milan.
